Learning Acceleration System Grant

Evaluating the Learning Acceleration System

Evaluating the Learning Acceleration System

Using an RFP process, the CCEE identified Education Northwest, in partnership with Social Policy Research Associates (SPR), as the independent evaluator of the Learning Acceleration System Grant. Education Northwest will conduct planning, formative, and summative evaluations of the Learning Acceleration System Grant Program. The evaluation will measure the effectiveness of professional development activities under the Learning Acceleration System Grant, including the impact on instructional practices, student learning, and scalability of sustainable professional learning systems. The independent evaluation team developed this logic model to guide the evaluation and capture inputs, activities, outputs, and desired outcomes of the Learning Acceleration System Grant.

Evaluation Goals

The evaluation of the Learning Acceleration System grant will include reviewing alignment of the Learning Acceleration System Grant with related professional learning initiatives. To establish coherence across statewide professional learning program evaluations, the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence, California Department of Education, and State Board of Education is convening designated evaluation teams, including the Learning Acceleration System Grant independent evaluation team, to provide community and collaboration toward a shared vision of successful evaluations. These alignment efforts are described on the CCEE’s Statewide Program Evaluation webpage
